5 Steps to a Healthy Breakfast

When you are busy or running late for work, a healthy breakfast is not on your list of priorities before you exit the house. Breakfast sets the tone for the day and should be given some attention, this recipe is so easy that you can make it in your pre-coffee haze and it's healthy to boot. The major players involved are frozen fruit, Greek yogurt, granola, and Chia seeds.
Step 1: Populate a bowl with some thawed frozen fruit. Of course you can use fresh fruit but I wanted to emphasize on this being an easy breakfast and it's easy to buy and keep frozen fruit. So use the fruit you have on hand. You can leave a small portion to thaw before you go to sleep, or if you forget to do that you can thaw it quickly with the stove.

Step 2: Drop some Greek yogurt in the middle of the dish. Greek yogurt has a nice protein kick and is a great morning starter. I use Chobani brand yogurt but you can use whatever your favorite is. Just make sure that you use Greek yogurt and not plain old yogurt.

Step 3: Top the dish with a few scoops of Chia seeds. Chia seeds are awesome for Omega-3 fatty acids and will really get you up and moving in the a.m. Check out this product spot light we did on our Chia seeds a few months back for more info on Chia seeds. Chia seeds are available in our Online Market!

Step 4: Add a handful of granola to the mix. Granola is great for you and adds a nice crunchy texture to this treat. Looking for a high quality granola? Our friends at 24 Carrots make awesome vegan granola. Check it out!

Step 5: This is the fun step. Mix it all up and make it look as sloppy and messy as you can. The messier it looks, the better it tastes.....seriously.

Now all that is left to do is to eat it as you are running out the door to catch the bus or sit in traffic. This breakfast will set you up to conquer anything life throws at you. You will love it, we promise.
