A Cornucopia of Goods

It seems like every week we have something new in our harvest. This week it's eggplant, and if you didn't notice we also added banana trees to our online market. First lets talk eggplant. These things have an almost alien look and feel, you don't see many veggies with a purple skin. Cooking with egg plant is a joy and if you have a vegetarian kitchen they are great substitutes for meat. That said, you don't have to be vegetarian to enjoy a meal like this eggplant parmesan. If that eggplant parm seems a little to decadent for you check out this much healthier option for grilled smoky eggplant salad. We grow these purple beauties at our ranch house in Gilbert using natural methods of course. They are now available for ordering in the veggies section of our online market.

Last week we added these great banana trees to the online market, they are Gran Nain banana trees also known as Chiquita. These beautiful plants grow to be about 6 to 8 feet tall. When mature they can produce bunches of fruit weighing up to 50 lbs! Other than the home fruit growing potential, they are also very attractive for landscaping and are great at wind resistance. So no need to worry when the haboob hits. These trees can also be used as container plants. Once established these guys can grow up to 2 feet per month! You can check them out in our new plant section in the online market. We will also be posting videos on how to care for your banana trees in the winter months, including how to trim them which is very important for sustained growth.

Another new product that will be at the market tomorrow but isn't in the online market yet is a fan favorite. That's right, it's the return of our famous Ugly Salsa just in time for your 4th of July BBQ. This year it has even more kick to it! Come early to the Gilbert or Phoenix market tomorrow to get your hands on some! Hopefully we will keep more new goods rolling in and we will be sure to let you know about them right here on the blog.
