Going Ape for Apricots

Locally grown apricots aren't easy to find in Arizona, but they do exist and we have a small load. Our apricot trees at the ranch house in Gilbert have produced some nice and tasty apricots. They have a nice firm texture with a not too sweet taste. We don't have a large supply so this is going to be a farmer's market only item. They will be available at tomorrow's Phoenix and Gilbert markets and it's first come first serve, so get there early!

Apricots taste great and like most fruits are considered "nature's candy" and since it's a natural food we get those great health benefits. Apricots provide a great source for dietary fiber and potassium. In the vitamin department apricots supply you with a good dose of both vitamins A and C. As an added bonus apricots are super low in saturated fat, cholesterol and sodium.

We hope to see you out early tomorrow morning, not only so you can get dibs on some of these awesome apricots but also so you can avoid the heat! If you are coming out to the market tomorrow, remember to drink lots of water and stay in the shade.
