Jucing Shoots

When we talk about juicing it usually has to do with wheatgrass. Wheatgrass is really powerful good stuff, the only problem is that it requires a special auger style juicer to properly be juiced. So for those of you with normal juicers and blenders, I propose to you our shoots as juicing fodder.

Our sunflower and pea shoots are perfect candidates for a green juice. The broccoli, being thin and delicate would yield less juice but it is still juice-able. The radish on the other hand may have too much spice for your green juice, maybe radish juice should be saved for another drink all together (Bloodymarys). But seriously, if you are into juicing you can find few better ingredients than our shoots. For more specific information on our shoots, check out these previous blog posts:

I like to mix up the pea and sunflower shoots with some spinach, carrots, celery, ginger, and whatever other greens I can find. This is my morning power drink and helps me get through the day! The pea shoots give the drink a nice sweet finish and the sunflower provides a rich and hardy body to the drink you can even sprinkle in some cut broccoli shoots into the drink and mix them around, that is if you don't mind a little texture in your juice.

If you want to try juicing shoots for yourself, we have them available in our online store as well as at the Phoenix & Gilbert farmer's markets. Are you already an avid juicer? Write in and share your favorite recipes and we will post them up here on the blog.
