This week I want to tell you about the progress on our large scale aquaponics system at the Rhibafarms ranch in Gilbert.

The pond is full and has mostly catfish living in it but there are also some blue gill and other fish swimming around in there too. This pond circulates it's nutrient rich water to the hand full of storage tanks we have scattered around our field.  This system feeds the main garden areas.

On the other side of our main gardens is our newest aquaponics project at the ranch.  It's a Tilapia system like the one at our urban farm in Chandler.  The tanks are very near completion and we have put up a deck around the tanks to allow easy access for fish maintenance.  We are using round tanks this time around and that should present some new challenges.  At this rate we will be priming the system real soon.  After we run it for a week or so with good results from water tests, it will be time to add the fish.  We will post up a video of our Tilapia going to their new home as soon as we can.  Stay tuned for more updates on this and all of our exciting projects going on at Rhibafarms!
