This week I had the pleasure of talking with Nicole, one of our chicken adopters about her experience with the program. Nicole and her boyfriend Steve are a couple of months into their adoption and are really enjoying the experience. They made a pilgrimage out to Chicken Town in Gilbert to pick and meet their chicken that they have named Eleanor. It was Steve's idea to name their Ameraucana hen Eleanor. he liked the idea of their chicken having an older generation name. I think the name fits perfectly, it harkens back to a time when more people raised their own chickens and had a closer relationship with their food....
