Community Farming During Tough Times

Community Farming During Tough Times

During these unprecedented times, more people than ever are beginning to show an interest in community farming. While there are obvious benefits from a sustainable food source, there are also many advantages that come with community building and social welfare.

From the early morning sun, to the mid summer heat, there is more to regenerative agriculture than just coercing produce from the ground. The relationship between humankind and the Earth is a sacred bond, that must be honored.

In this symbiotic relationship, you can not benefit one crop without simultaneously helping another. And this is the lesson that continues to ring true, throughout the era of COVID19, recalls for race reform, and police suppression. The truth is, we really are all in this together.

With our long term partners in the local restaurant industry facing economic challenges and uncertainty, it would be easy to simply give in to fear and the unknown. However, we strongly believe in the power of community and raising each other up through the process of education.

Consequently, Rhiba Farms continues to offer monthly workshops and skill building consultations for anyone interested in community farming. From local community gardens to wine made by Monks, we are here to help.

Find more advice about sustainable farming on the Rhiba Farms company blog and YouTube channel. Please remember to help each other out, and that together, we truly can make the world a better place.
