These beets are a multipurpose variety of beets grown mostly for their greens. The betalin pigments present in beets have repeatedly been shown to support activity within the body's detoxification process, activating and processing unwanted toxic substances. Beet greens are actually more nutritious than the beets, containing twice the amount of potassium. They are also exceptionally high in beta carotene and folic acid.

An excellent source of antioxidants, spinach has four times the beta carotene of broccoli. High in lutein, nutrients in spinach help lower blood cholesterol. It also contains carbohydrates, protein, fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, iron and folic acid. For best nutritional value, eat raw or slightly cooked. - See more at: http://www.specialtyproduce.com/produce/Bloomsdale_Spinach_5583.php#sthash.jCsygT9j.dpuf
